CSIS 472 - Senior System Development II

Course Description
- The projects that were initiated in the first semester are fully
developed and implemented. Use of analysis, design, implementation,
and testing techniques are applied throughout the project. The system
development sequence culminates in the oral presentations and formal
written reports of the projects.

Objectives
- This course is designed as the culmination of the CS Department's
Senior capstone sequence. It is the second course in the sequence
CSIS 471/472. The main objective is for the entire sequence is for
each student to complete a senior project for which a portfolio
will be created consisting of sample preliminary, intermediate,
and final design docs, complete source code from the project, and
a fully documented user's manual. Each student should draw on the
total knowledge base they have gained throughout their time at GFU.
This course will focus on the initial project definition and requirement
documentation. A final presentation will be required with an audience
of students, faculty, alumni, and industry professionals.

Course Organization
- Students will give mini-seminars on their progress to date at
class meetings along with advanced topic discussions on current
software engineering research. Students will also participate in
workplace etiquette training. Students will also take the ETS Major
Field Exam in computer science.
I do not expect you to give more than 100% towards this class,
however I also will accept no less.

Grading
- One quick note on my grading style... Quality is everything!!!
NO CREDIT will be given to any late work without a previous
arrangement.. Incompletes will NOT be given in this class.
- Students will receive progress grades throughout the semester
based upon work completed and technical merit. A final grade will
consist of four areas of assessment:
- Technical merit (source code and/or research)
- Written Communication (documentation and manuals)
- Oral Communication (departmental seminar)
- Peer Review
Letter grades will be given on the following scale:
